Had to have a small gloat here with my new bandsaw I just got; 17" 2HP grizzly model. This thing is awesome and I've been buying wood the last couple of months knowing I was going to get this thing soon! All of these pieces in the pics will eventually be cut up and sent to WSSI for stabilizing. Might sell some of it on the forums eventually.
Decided to shoot a couple pics of my shop while I was at it as well! It's not too large, but I like the fact that I can get to everything quickly as I need it. It's also quite a mess right now...I'm in the midst of final exams and haven't had time to clean but I had to come out and cut up some handle material to take a break!
I'm building a large table against one side that's not in the pics that will be used to space some stuff out and half will be dedicated to sheath making.
Enjoy!
All kinds of wood: box elder burl, desert ironwood burl, maple burl, spalted tamarind, red palm, marblewood, tulipwood, walnut burl, ebony, eucalyptus burl, cocobolo, tasmanian myrtle burl, and even more not shown in the pics!
Man, this desert ironwood burl is a great piece! Not quite dry yet; I've already cut some blocks off that are drying!
A couple sheaths I did for someone on the forums just for some added pics!
Had to end with a knife...this was one I put handles on. Gotta be one of the most unique pieces of wood I've worked on!
