Well, here is a little better shop progress shop and what I worked on this morning. I Like it :D

What can you suggest about my set up so far? Any help is greatly apreciated....

You did all that grinding in one morning?! That's more than I do in three months.

First thing I looked for was how you mounted your vise and that looks just right. Because of the way my shop is laid out my small vise is mounted on the wrong corner of the bench and it required a little extra futzing around too often.

One thing I gotta mention is light. You have a pretty good base going but I think you'd really appreciate having task lights - that's plural - at each workstation. You just can't have too much light.

Finally, you really gotta do something about accumulating a bit more grime. I know it's new and all but with all the work you are able to accomplish I'd think you could get some steel dust drifts going pretty soon.

Nice place, thanks for sharing.

Where's all the crap that should be strewn about. The knee high pile of junk on the work benches. It just aint right I tell ya.

Brian, Looks good bud ! Plenty of space to do just about what ever you want.

TRust me.....the crap strewn about is on the way.

Oh yeah.....here is a funny story.... I called Mark to get his opinion on painting the floor. Well, he wasnt home so I asked his lovley wife. THis is what she had to say....."My father would have told you to protect the flooring but MArk doesn't even sweep...." :D

I profiled all those blades before this morning but I did grind them between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. I still need to tighten them up at 220 grit and HT though. I may be liking my KMG on full speed.........I was used to it at the med pully speed.......

Looks like a good set-up, the only thing I would change is the heater needs to be in my shop! :D I'm freezing my but off!

Well, here's a benefit to having your shop in the basement... At least it's relatively warm down there. It's been cold everywhere this weekend!

MAn I got that heater used for 35 bucks too! I had on my T-Shirt after about 1 1/2 hr with it on. Cant say I'd be out there without it!!

Needs dirt....trash....soda and beer cans strewn all over, and that inevitable junk pile under a bench.

I agree with whoever said you can't have enough lights. Everything else looks good, but you need more lights.

Spot lights or more florecense (sp?).......

Some fo the cheap clamp lights you can find at home depot are especially nice to have around. You can stick them where you want them and aim them so you get direct or indirect light off them.

Short hanging florescents are good, the 2 and 4 foot versions in places where you need more light, like over grinders.

If you can find them at junk shops and yard sales...the round magnifiers are always handy no matter what you are doing. Rig up some extra mounts fo rthese and take them where you need them.

Well...I have power out there now. No more drop cord!!! Makes a BIG difference. Not digging the ditch untill I see if I will need more amps out there. MAy have to upgrade to 60 amps.
