I am writing this to communicate about priorites in my life right now, not to gain sympathy or make excuses. This is just to let all of you who have ordered a knife know what is going on with me and the shop. The reason I am in CA is to care for my mother-in-law who has advanced stage 4 cancer. We have been here since Aug., 09, and I have been her primary care giver. In the last two weeks, there has been a big "down-turn" and it has kept me out of the shop over 4 days last week and already Sun and Mon of this week.

If you have paid for an order, you are automaticly at the top of the list, which is short. Sorry if this upsets anyone who has an un-paid order waiting for a bit, but paid orders get top billing in the shop for many reasons. I believe I will get enough hours in this week to cover all paid orders!

If you have an un-paid order, your wait time is probabaly a little longer than I originally told you. If you need to cancel because of this, I understand completely, and hope to do business with you in the future...

I will post upadtes on what is happening here... Thanks!

Family is a huge concern and from my perspective, I think you should take the time you need to take care of your family's immediate needs. Yeah, I'd like my knives yesterday, but I'm more than content to wait. No pressure here.

In the past I've had to take time away from some orders (I was making guitar effects pedals for a while) to look after my family and it made me feel awful. People in general were accepting of the delays I think because I was honest about the situation. Thank you for being up front. It makes me feel even better knowing that I'll have some fine crafted and very cool knives made by an upstanding person. Be well and don't let any distractions or rushing put you in a dangerous situation in the shop.

sorry to hear that Mark... family always comes first in my book... you folks take care and good luck..:) drop me a line if you all need anything..

For the third night in a row, I have been up at 4 am "chasing pain" for 2-3 hours.... bone cancer must be the worst way to go. :(:thumbdn:

My dad had bone cancer. I understand. Prayers for your mother-in-law and family. God give her peace in her body and in her spirit.

Vicki passed away this morning, may she rest in peace, never again to be bothered by pain.

aaaahhh man... so sorry to hear that Mark...:( my prayers are with you folks... take care..

I am sorry to hear that Mark. I don't know you...well, at all, but I hate it for you. Keep your spirits high.

You've been a great son-in-law to her and a great husband to your wife through all this. You've done everything that could have been asked of you and much more. Vicki is no longer suffering this disease but you did everything you possibly could to help her while she was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family through these difficult days.

Mark, I am very sorry to hear this. Knifemaking is the least of your worries right now, I know I lost my mom 18 months ago. Family comes first at these times and I'me sure that everyone including me that has orders with you will be patient. Prayers are with you and your family. Rick.

Thanks for all your support during this hard time for me and my family. It has been difficult but we have alot of good friends who have responded. A kind word or deed means alot to people who are hurting .....
