After reading Steve's thread about the Q-Tips I decided I'll toss in my own little home remedy tip.
TOOTHPASTE
Yeppers! Toothpaste is a great item to use when the chips are down, sometimes this is the only thing that can help you out of a nasty situation. Not only does toothpaste help you keep your breath fresh and your teeth dazzling white, it'll also:
1. Polish plastic, glass, silver, brass and even steel.
2. dab a drop on a pimple, and it will help dry it out.
3. Run out of spackle? Toothpaste can fill a tack-hole in a wall.
My old automotive shop teacher in high school used toothpaste to polish his knives (kind of how I got interested in knives, but that's another story altogether). He said that after he sanded the knives ot a certain point, he would sit in front of the tv at night and rub rub rub with a cloth and toothpaste until they gleamed.
I've actually used toothpaste to polish the face shield on my helmet. Bugs and other goo cleaned up real nice. Its a nice fine polish. It actually has a form of soap in it too, so it cleans really well. I think its as good on chrome as any dedicated chrome cleaner. Smells better too!
Oh btw... use the regular toothpaste. Gel types won't work.
