Hi... This may help out some of you makers who seal cord wraps or finish off hand sewn sheaths at the lock-stitch with cracy glue.
I made a small hunter for my local masonic district to auction as a fund raiser and when it came time to put a drop of crazy glue on the knot of the hand stitched sheath I found I was completely out. It was due for pick-up the next morning and as I had to be to work first thing I was in a fix. I had just strapped my gun belt on when I had a brain wave. Two days before I had helped our C.S.I. set up our new state of the art fumeing cabinet in the ident lab. You got it ! Fumeing cabinet= CRAZY GLUE. Well I bee-lined it down the hall knife sheath in hand and related my request to the C.S.I. who was more than happy to assist. It was then that she informed me that they use a specially formulated crazy/super glue that is about 30 times more concentrated than that which is normally available to the general public. It is quite thin to allow it to vapourize easily and adhere evenly. Despite being able to use less it is as strong as steel which I imagine would make it particularly well suited to cord wraps. Needless to say I have a couple of bottles added to our next order.
If any of you have friends in Law enforcement you might look into this. I will try and get the info on the supplier and post it.
