This time of year in New Hampshire, the flies seem to be rather aggressive. They just are so intent on getting inside the house, and inside my shop and buzz around the lights, and light on my hand while I'm doing something (usually critical). My dog snaps at them, causing more distraction, and before long I am ready to snap.Heck they'll even bite you sometimes.
I'm not an entomologist, but I suspect it has something to do with the weather change, or maybe the mature fruits and berries? I dunno, but I found a really cool way to get rid of all the flies in my shop within a short period on time, and get myself back to work, feeling less bothered, and much less anal.
Use a shop vac.
Trust me, it works. Just use the long wand and suck 'em up when they light somewhere. For whatever reason they aren't too imtimidated by the wand, and you can get right up on them.
Well, I know you expected something cool when you saw "Shop Tip" and opened this thread, but sometimes its the little things, ya know?
