Shop Tour!

Peter, nice shop!!! I`m sorry to say I don`t
have a shop anymore, but hope to be back up
an runnin by summer.

I am convinced of a couple of things. One: memo to self, do not post pics of your shop on this site! Two: people who post pics of their shops on this site are much neater than you are. Mighty impressive layout mister. T

cool layout Peter
I wish I could move around in mine.. :grumpy: to
much junk around mine
I thought about getting a spinal sander but thought the sleeves
would bankrupt me how is it working out for you??

Hey thanks guys! Yeah, I'm feeling pretty spoiled. :)

Dan, the spindle sander is handy for certain things. I have had better luck with it on softer materials like G10 or wood but it does OK on steel and ti if you go easy with it. I haven't had it all that long so time will tell.

Roger, in the Paragon are two little ceramic holders with iconel (or whatever) rods to hold the blades upright. They are a pain because they fall over all the time but I just got one of my potter friends to give me a nice K26 brick so I'm gonna make myself a custom holder.

I think your shop is bigger than my apt. ;) :P

Cool pics, gave me some ideas for whenever I finally do get a shop(of course, since thyat's years away, the ideas will change 80 times or so between now and then. :) )

VERY COOL Peter!!! I hope to be that organised someday!:D My shop is best described as "Controlled Confusion". Thanks for the look...

Bruce, I still have some of those bits and pieces that you sent me sitting in there! I'm having a tough time finding the right place to use ivory and an even tougher time finding pieces big enough to yield matching sets.

J, Woodworkers Warehouse just went out of business last month and I snagged the spindle sander and disc sander. Excellent buys! I'm sorry to see the store go though. :(

Hey Peter, you must have put that aluminum block on your quenching vise after I saw you last. Do you think it works any better now?

Very nice! Looks like you have taken great care in building sturdy, solid and flat benches and tables - something not to be underestimated!

WOW ! Great set up ! Very impressive. The cleanliness amazes me and you have lots of space too !....RDT

Pete, I am impressed! Thanks for the grand tour, fella. I bet it really hurts your feelings when your wife banishes you to the shop!Hey! Where is the frig? You probably just holler out and she fetches a cold one, huh?

Actually John, it's the other way around. She wishes I didn't spend all my time down there and complains that she has become a "knife widow." :D

Jeff, I've been using the aluminum blocks all along and they work great! Hey, that piece of snakewood is still here for you. Not sure that it hasn't cracked a little in this dryness though.....:(
