I enjoy going to other makers website. But I leave disappointed if they do not have a shop tour. Does anyone else feel the same????

George,
I agree. Having a website without a shop tour is like making damascus without beer!

Did you ever take a tour threw a dump? My shop is exactly the same but smells alittle different. I just work off the piles.....

It's nice that makers do it, but if they are in business (other than as a maker's supplier), then I wonder why they have so much making coverage, it doesn't make sense to me.

Heard that Ray. If I posted my shop I would get a visit from the health department! :barf:

Very well said I consider it a sin. I don't think I could make damascus without one.  :D

I love shop tours! Some day I'll make one of my own. I will add a caveat here though:

For every one of us in this craft who corresponds here on Bladeforums or any other forum for that matter, there is another person who regards his work as very private, and will not freely share info with others.

I know one such maker living close to me. He's actually quite famous, and sells his folders in the $5000+ range. He's quite reclusive and will not share information about shop practice at all, even in casual conversation. A perfect gentleman, but closely guards his trade secrets.

IG, just left a voice mail, Probably be up in an hour or so.

:D :D
