Our shop is moving to new location called Sallagari.
Once we get settled down we will be back in business.
Hopefully the people around there be peaceful and not
cause the problems to the shop and the Kamis the people
around the old shop did.

I will let you all know in few days when Kamis will start
making Knives again.

However, I have several customers who are waiting for their
orders and, even when we start making knives, it will be bit
slow to start with. Dashanin will be here in a month and we
will lose more working time. There’s nothing I can do about it.

Meantime, thank you all for your patience and support to HI
and Kamis. We do appreciate your loyalty.

Auntie we are all wishing you and the kamis the best with the new shop space. The incredible crafts that are made from H.I are well worth waiting for.

If there's anything we as forumite's can do to help this time for you and the kami's, just let us know.

Mere bumps in the road of a long and hopefully fruitful journey. Smoke up and you can count on us to hang in there with you, Yangdu. If you need us to do anything at all, just say the word.

Good Luck in Sallagari.
I hope that for some reason people will be more understanding there.
I wish I could help moving. Lifting anvills sounds like a good challenge.
If you know any way we can help please don't hesitate to let us know.
HI forever!

Good luck with the new location! Don't worry about time, take as long as you need! :)

Congrats on the new shop location Auntie! We will keep each other entertained here until you get the new shop setup. Wish I could help move stuff!

I wonder if there is anything that HI can do proactively to establish and promote a harmonious relationship with the new community? Perhaps the upcoming holiday would offer an opportunity?

Perhaps a puja open to all, although whatever is done should be able to address all sectors of the community. If a celebration is perceived as bringing "low caste" elements in while higher castes can't participate due to status differentials that may not be good overall. I don't have the cultural insight into what whould be a good way to establish bonds with the community as a whole, but perhaps some others here do.

I'd be willing to throw a bit of financial support towards a Dishanan activity that could help forge bonds of fellowship between HI and the community, as a goodwill gift to the kamis and sarkis. I think some of the other forumites may be willing as well.

I'd certainly do what little I could. I think a little goes a long ways over there.

Looks good on google maps.
North of the Arniko highway is some big open land. West to north of that area it looks abit residential and in the east is farmland.
Noise is no issue since theres a highway anyways and smell should be no problem because it's open land and well, a highway and farmland usually stinks a bit as well.
Thinks look well from the satellites :)

listen to howard. and prayers with you yangdu, my money will support your kami and new land !-- and yeah I have wanted to be part of a religious festival for the workers of HI since the start? could we start with a minimum of 33 dollars ? or 9 or 99 ( i think those are good for that festival) -- I would love to donate to a forum sponsored party for the hard workers of nepal.

Here's a link to the satellite view of Sallaghari, and a photo from that triangular intersection (lower right quadrant) looking toward the open space in the middle:

Best wishes on the move and becoming established in your new location. May Fortune smile upon the new premises and the people working there.

Great News! The Sallagari Shop Is Open!

This evening my father called and said the shop is open and
the Kamis are working hard to finish the pending orders for the online store.

Once again we are back in business!

While trying to find a good location for the shop, the Kamis lost time and could
not work for at least 6 weeks. Moving the shop was costly, but that is the cost
of doing business.

Now the Kamis are working long hours at the new shop, trying to finish the old
orders that have been waiting for a while. Once we get done with old orders,
then we will try to get some knives made for our online store inventory. As
soon as the store inventory is build back up, we will take care of the forumites
special order Knives and Swords.

It all takes a bit longer time to get the job done and still produce a quality knives.

I thank you all for your patience, support to HI and Kamis.
