Shopping for Whetstones

Sharpening supplies is pretty solid. To me a place is "reputable" if they have the stones regularly in stock, offer them for a competitive price, ship quickly, and the stones arrive undamaged. Pretty much all the sites I've dealt with do this. Now I use sharpening supplies just because I find the website easy to navigate

I like to get Norton oilstones at the butcher supply store. My local woodworking supply store has a nice selection of stones including water stones.

With out having any real experience with them, but after looking around for suppliers myself and seeing the reviews, i would stay away from "best sharpening stones". i have yet to see a good review. I am only mentioning this because a google search will bring them up on the first page.

I have had\still have good experiences with sharpening supplies.

It also comes down to what kind of stones you are looking for. Some places do specialize in certain types.

Glad you took the time to fully state yourself now. Had you made it clear, --- I would have given you the same answer. DM

Sharpening Supplies is also my go-to place for sharpening stuff. I don't think David linked to them by random chance.;) They're a very reputable company with excellent service.
