I'm going to be in and around Milan next week and was wondering if any of you guys knew of places where I could check out traditional European knives while I'm there.

(Any recommendations on restaurants would be welcome too).

You have to go visit Coltelleria Collini in Busto Arsizio, it is outside Milan (North, towards Varese). Maybe check out their website before going.
You can also visit the Beretta store in Milan.

Bice is one of the most traditional restaurants in Milan, try to make reservations well in advance. Take a look at Lorenzi in nearby via Montenapoleone, they mostly sell smoking articles but they also carry knives.

Thanks so much. I checked out the Coltelleria Collini website and it looks to be only a short train ride from where I'll be. I'll definitely eat at Bice as well. I'm already going to be spending a bunch of time on Via Montenapoleone anyway because of my girlfriend so I'll make sure to drop into Lorenzi.

collini is my official blade pusher!!! one of the staff member name davide too :)

Lorenzi is a good shop but is sooooo expensive

Oh boy, taking your girlfriend to via Montenapoleone is going to cost you. make sure you spend some money on knives first.;)

I don't think I'll be able to make it to Scarperia, but I've seen that video and would love to get the chance to visit the city.

hey davide, whatever happend to your trip in italy?

I have a wooden handle Saladini slip joint that I picked up in Florence and a Marietti that looks like an Italian version of Opinel that I got in Varenna. Oh yeah, and a olive wood handled Sardinian "peasant knife" w/ a scimitar like blade that I got in Sienna. Knife shopping is a blast in Italy, have fun!
