Shopping site down.

I was afraid of this. Smoothsale is no longer responding. I don't know if they have gone belly up or if this is a temporary failure. Nobody is home there anymore so there's nobody to call or email.

I guess it's time to build another shopping site.

These people who start something and then abandon it leaving all their customers out in the cold make me sick.

I just tried getting in to smoothsale both through your link and by entering the url. No luck either way.

I guess I'm faced with building a new shopping site. In the interim we can use Paypal.

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that guys who start something like Smoothsale and then simply abandon it when it doesn't make millions for them leaving their customers just hanging are without honor. No advance warning to the customers, no apologies, no explaination -- just one day the site is no longer there. I don't like guys like this, not one little bit.

I agree with you Uncle... there is no excuse for them pulling the plug without any kind of notice or explaination.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out... We could put it on my URL for the time being... I've got about 60MB of space available. The studio stuff can come off pretty quick (and it doesn't exist anymore anyway). I just paid up my dues to keep it in my name for the next couple of years too.

I've never designed a shopping site before, but if we go with a paypal arrangement, I could certainly do something cool... hmmm... creative juices beginning to flow

Unless, you have alot of volume, the Mark I telephone would be the simplest thing to set up. It's not fancy, but 1 call can cut through alot of email.

I'm struggling trying to get another shopping site built. Stay tuned. This one is in cahoots with Paypal and is called Andale. If anybody know anything about it email me.

I'm struggling with a store called Andales. They are in cahoots with Paypal. I don't like it as well as Smoothsale (the rotten, lousy @#$%^&&**) but I guess something is better than nothing. It's new territory for me and I keep running into dead ends.
