I dunno if this topic has been crossed before, But did I miss something here?

Is there going to be a Benchmade or two with the Shirogorov design later the 95 and 110??

as I see Shirogorov uses the Axis Lock on one model and they have a flipper liner lock model too.

Just curious, not malicious in any form

I saw this: skip to 1.08 min to start with the knife

I'm prettu sure Shirogorov licensed it from BM to use.

I agree with you, although I would be speculating here.

Do not get me wrong, or misunderstand my post! - All I could care about, is a cost effective alternative to this custom, I have spent way too much money on knives already these last two years, I love the clean lines of the design.

I am very sure Benchmade did not offer a license for this knife to be made. While the shape is familar to something BKC could make, it's someone's good idea that it ever was. For a knife with similar lines BKC did make look for a 930 Kulgera...although discontinued is still around.

Try a Benchmade TSEK or AFCK

What I'm particularly interested in is whether these knives are in fact incorporating ti as liners, something that I was informed couldn't happen in conjunction with the Axis mech without considerable galling of the Axis bar against the liners. Seems like it could be done with the right amount of polishing and heat-treaeting of the liner Axis cutouts, but maybe it's more trouble and expense than it's worth?

I think the axis lock looks perfect on my old school Shirogorov Dertnik

I for one would be pretty excited about a shirogorov benchmade collaboration. The awesome shirogorov styling combined with the pricetag and availability from a large production knife company, plus benchmade's habit of offering mini versions of their knives. I'm not sure if shirogorov is licensed to use the axis lock or not though, if they are you'd think that would open the door to a collaboration. Someone should tell them to get on that.

I would not hold my breath for Shirogorov-BM collaboration: exactly for that very issue of him previously using lock which was "very similar" to Axis. I do not know where things stand right now, I actually thought he did not offer knives with that lock any more.
BTW: I know that the knives he used to make in the past indeed had Ti liners, which in combination with the Axis-type lock were creating some problems with unlocking the blade. I actually did not have that issue with any of the knives that I have got, but it was a known issue affecting new knives in particular. I would actually expect that knife to have Ti liners too.
It's a pity that we can not have Shirogorov-BM knife: his knives are beautiful and would fit into BM style and product line very well!
The same I think applies to Senkevitch knives: but he already works with Kershaw.
