Short blade, full handle - ever thought about it Andy?

Ever thought about making something like this Andy?

Four finger grip with a thick, short, blade.
Enough point and belly for general utility but not super stabby or pointy.

This would be my ideal EDC.

I am so close to pulling the trigger on a BRKT Imp, but thought that maybe there were some custom options for something similar.

A four finger Fiddleback handle with all the goodies paired with a short stout blade would kick ass.

I have the Roselli 'erapuukko' (hunter), which is even longer and pointier, and also the Roselli Carpenter, which comes as close to an all-round puukko as it gets. The Grandfather would be a good skinner, I think... the blades are generally around 1/8" thick, die-forged, but that may not be as thick as you want. They're superb cutters, tho'... and the big handles on the erapuukko and Grandfather are great when you're working in cold weather, wearing gloves or mittens. Also excellent for field dressing big game under adverse conditions.

A mineral mountain hatchet works farm and ranch model sounds like what your looking for, I have one and I like it

Was really thinking more like 2 1/4" - 2 5/8" and not too pointy. Legal, sheeple, bouncy car ride, jumping dog, hand it to the girlfriend, no accidental stabbing friendly. Yet with enough point to work with and just enough belly for slicing.

No way it could be confused as a "dirk or dagger" but not a neck knife compromise size.

I'm still feeling vague on the blade shape. I like the idea though. I have that Bark River witha sheepsfoot blade, and I love it.

A sheepsfoot with a little bit of belly/point is pretty cool. One other thought is that a narrower blade, 1" or even less, makes it lighter and handier, and thus in my case more likely to be carried...

I have one of those Bark River TUSKs as well, and playing with it and looking at the IMP is what got me thinking.

A full four finger grip with a short blade and at least a small guard would be very controllable in less than ideal knife using conditions.

I notice that with the TUSK, because of the rear balance, the lack of a guard, and the wedge shape of the handle, a small lapse in concentration can quickly lead to accidentally holding the sharp end of the knife.

Andy's handle design would really work well for maintaining control on a small blade, big handle knife.

2 3/4" not so pointy, spearpoint ladyfinger?

How's this look?

Going to use this thread to inspire a collaboration between Rick Marchand and myself!!

Yeah, that would do it!

Really liking that blade shape, and the handle.....the whole thing.

That looks like enough belly to pop cord or slice on a flat surface but retain most of the sheepsfoot benefits.

Yeah, yeah, I know you guys are working on some really great knives that fall into this category, but... Just had to post this because I stumbled upon it in the exchange and it filled me with knife lust.

And it fit the spirit of the OP.

Just inspirational material. Would pull the trigger on it if I wasn't so hooked on the FB handle! I'll wait... I'm sure there will be at least a small run of whatever you guys(Andy and Rick) develop in that other thread, right?:)
