My son-in-law came over this evening and brought his new CAK. I have a row of pine trees on one side of the property and some branches hang low enough to hit me while I mow the yard. I've already taken a hundred of them out with other various kukris but since I never had a chance to use the CAK before I gave it to him, I thought it would be a good excuse to get it out.
Review: Wow! We were chopping overhead just at the end of our reach and I was pleasantly supprised at how effortlessly this kukri digs into wood. The limbs were about the size of a large arm or small leg. The CAK chewed these up with very little effort.
We tried two different approaches; swinging hard and then taking very easy, well placed chops. Its amazing how little difference there is. Even with very easy chops, the blade sunk deeply into the limb.
Another thing I didn't expect, there was ZERO vibration felt in the chiruwa's full tang handle. It felt rock solid, as if it were one piece of metal and it behaved exactly as directed. Very very nice kukri. It is still a bit big for me but it fits him perfectly. Another happy customer!
