I'm looking at the small EDC/necker sized Karda, Runt, and BLJ? All of these have short handles and I wonder how comfy they are. I guess I've never used a 3 or even 2 fingered grip knife so I have nothing to compare them to. Are there tasks you can't do with these knives within the realm of general everyday stuff or is it a matter of your hand fatiguing with extended use?

They usually work just fine for EDC and little cutting tasks. I wouldn't harvest the crop with them though.

I'm looking at one of the Karda's as well. I have used small knives like that as utility knives before and they are very handy. Just not made for power cuts.

I have the Bow Legged Joe and it is an awesome knife and I think I am getting a Karda soon.

The handle allows for a good 2 finger grip, I either hold it using index and middle for quick cuts or pinch the blade and ring and pinkie get the handle. The sheath is also very nice for neck carry.

You can't really whittle with them comfortably, but quick daily tasks like cutting tape or string, opening boxes, etc they really can't be beat. Think of small pocketknife function in a fixed blade.
