So, new to the bladeforums.com, although I lurked on/off for quite some time. Name is Shane, from the New Orleans area, married, two rescue dobermans, married, work as a NP (read profile) and have been a lifetime Benchmade guy. Long story short - 3/2016, <2 weeks after we moved into our new house, historic flood. Perspective: Main house is raised 12ft, still got +/- 4ft in the house. Battled insurance settlement but still came out about 40K in the hole. Getting ready to finally start the rebuild process and selling some of my 'things' to make up the 40K loss.

My current Benchmade/Lone Wolf collection is valued at approximately $8500. I narrowed it down and will sell the majority of it - keeping sentimental items. The collection I've decided to let go is valued at +/- $6300. It'll take me the remainder of the week to take pictures and the whatnot, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up on the impending sale. If by chance, and it's a big IF, someone is interested in the entire collection, I'll give a steep discount. In addition, if you're military (active or veteran) or LE, I'm willing to finance after verifying (e.g., IDME.com). I'll include a list of the knives below - much appreciation. Shane.

Just a suggestion-you might want to start with reading the rules and buying a gold membership , so you can sell. Your post looks like an attempt to sell outside the exchange.
I bought a platinum membership - didn't see a gold membership option? Thanks for the advice. . .

You'll be fine to sell with your membership level.

Read and digest the rules and read a bunch of the current posts in the sales forums to get a feel for the room.

Make sure to post detailed pictures in your threads since it sounds like you've got a lot of stuff that may be uncommon.

Let's see. . .replying about 4 months later! I've managed to put Chaos back in the cage, albeit temporarily, lol. I've gone back & forth searching for the 'rules'. Assuming it's directly in front of me, nonetheless can't find a direct link to the rules (selling). Questions I'm trying to answer: Can I offer select groups a discount (e.g., military, veterans, LE, etc.)? Can I offer a payment plan? P Peter Hartwig suggested I was trying to sell outside of the exchange - why did he make this assumption and what can I do to avoid this in future postings? Can you point me to the 'rules' in the most direct manner, please =)

Sorted through most of the collection last night - narrowed it down to between 32-40 knives I'm going to sell. Heading to a local knife shop to see if they want to buy them as a lot but thinking it might be a little out of their $$ range. I'll finish the selection by lunch today - and have another question: Given the large number of knives and my first goal is to sell as a lot, is it better to post pics on a hosting site and link on the FS post here? I tried to upload a few pics but most are too large - even for thumbnails. Was able to upload one as an example.

Much appreciated - Shane.

Welcome and good luck with the renovations and sale.
b00n-

Renovations, insurance companies, and contractors: Premeditated keeps running through my mind and my wife says I need to be careful with my jokes! After a verbal tussle with one of the contractors, I put a roll of clear wrap, duct tape, a bucket, and a set of knives on my workshop table the next morning, lol.

Upload them to Imgur.com. They’ll give you a link for each photo. You can drag a group of photos into their web page and they’ll upload them all at once. That’ll save you a lot of time. You have to sign up with them, but it’s free.

Good luck with your knives and your house!

The reason-you laid out what you were trying to sell in the general forum and at the time did not have a paid membership to sell. It looked like you were trying to get inquires on your knives without the proper paid membership, and in the General forum instead of the proper place which is the exchange. You have since purchased the paid membership and you may not have known you needed it , the proper place for the ad, or not intended it to be an ad. I don't know it just looked like an ad, intentional or not
The above post has the link to the rules.
If you have ?'s not covered by the rules the technical forum is a good place to ask
Good luck on your sale
