Woke up today with a smile on my face having realized that I just cleared my short list of knives wanted. Within the past three weeks I checked off a Strider, a Sacha Thiel and just yesterday FINALLY cleared off the large Insingo with Micarta inlays. I still have other knives on my want list but nothing, as of yet, is currently on the short list of must haves.

How far away are you from clearing your short list?

You must be the only person here who's short lost ever, ever gets shorter.

And, where's the eye candy? Congrats on those 3. That's a heavy group.

My short list?

  • Kershaw R.A.M
  • Kershaw random task II
  • Spyderco dragonfly
That's about it for now...

After the knives i have coming in this week, something with an Axis will clear my short list. Not for long though i expect.

Right now the Insingo is enroute, the Sacha Thiel mid tech is still being built in France (I just e-mailed Mr. Thiel to find out the status) and here's the SNG DGG.

Hi friend. My list is never very long, but changes nearly daily. The Sacha Thiel seems interesting. Need to see pics when you get it.
Never had a DGG grip, but plenty of Sng's have come and gone. Nice model; fits everyone.
My list (right now?)..maybe a 3" titanium frame-lock for gifting to a male relative, perhaps to get one of my nice 3 1/8" blades ground down and reshaped by somebody who is expert at that sort of thing, without destroying the temper. Would love to buy a framelock in 3" from Gareth Bull. Tom Krein also big on my list for a short-bladed framelock, but cannot afford this guy. His knives "slice;" his grinds are legendary.
I love the handle size of my Grayman Dua; it's half-way between the small and large Sebenza, but blade is 3.15". If some of these makers would offer choice of 3" or 3 1/4" blades in the same handle (sized like Grayman DUA)...they would make a lot of folks happy.

My short list is gonna take a few yrs lol but at the moment

Todd Begg bodega should be here in a month hopefully will be my first grail
Will Moon Custom mark 7 talked to him a little yesterday and think he'll be able to do exactly what I want will be crazy few weeks away
My 2 yunas thats on order for about another yr woo
stonewashed acid etch wharncliff el patron flipper by jeremy robertson doesnt exist to my knowledge
In search of a stone age finished jake hoback a8 with hrd (books are closed probly for next 2yrs at least)
Todd rexford custom singularity and injection (books have been closed for 3yrs exactly now)
A custom praetorian t that greg already told me no to
Dervish alchemy (books are closed)
Then the real long shot a McGinnis apex

My short list varies in length. Right now the only thing that's on it is the ZT 0770CF. But that could change very quickly.

I've been eyeing a Grayman for a while now - not sure if I will put her on my list. Decisions, decisions. . . .

Now that's what I call a LIST!

My short list varies in length. Right now the only thing that's on it is the ZT 0770CF. But that could change very quickly.

I've learned to put my ZTs and Kershaws on a separate list since their release date always changes. I have several placed on pre-order.

not my pic but how I want my McGinnis to look

Talked to Jake and he just made his first a8 today with the hrd systems so the above knife doesnt exist I think maybe Jim Skelton has an a8 in stoneage ordered and thats the only 1 to my knowledge that will be out there for now anyways

No worries. I'm not holding my breath waiting for the 0770CF. It will be here when it gets here. :)

I won't be able to check off everything on my short list for quite a while. Partly because of the expense, rarity, or downright unavailability of the knives featured on it, and partly because, as you can see, it isn't actually all that short. :p

In approximate order of price:
-PJM La Moufette
-Diskin Fire
-Strider PT CC
-Northwoods Scagel Camp
-Protech Brend 2
-Pattada
-Benchmade 705
-Blackjack Model 4
-GEC #74/ GEC #76/AGR Gunstock/Case Norfolk
-KoA Spike/400
-Boker Kwaito
-Ontario SP41
-Boker Carbon
-Volcan Coronado
-Victorinox Cadet

By the way, if anybody reading this hasn't heard about some of the models on there, I'd highly recommend looking them up. There're some great, decently priced, (but fairly obscure,) knives there.

I have nothing on my want list and have no intention on buying another knife in the foreseeable future.

I just got the third of three (rather inexpensive) knives I didn't even know I wanted until fairly recently. Don't have any other immediate wants, knife-wise. Now what I need to do is figure out how to get rid of knives I have that I either don't like or don't use. That's a whole 'nother problem. Could have a yard sale, but my neighbors don't deserve to buy my knives. LOL
(I know, I know, Gold membership. Eventually.)
