A real short poll, I find myself doin' quick replies more often than a standard reply, I usually only do a standard reply when I need to use quote button or add a link, how 'bout you, do you quick reply or standard reply the most?

I tend to use smileys in allot of my posts so ......

:yawn::o:barf::(:foot::):confused::eek::mad::cool:

I do standard, because, that's what I've always done, and it really takes no extra time. Just click, type, and submit.

That way, I never have to think to push a different button if I want to subscribe to a thread, quote, or add some emotion.

What's the advantage of the quick reply?

I guess I'll have to push the button and see.

Oh, I see. I've been here how long? Never really noticed the ease of use. Learn something every day, I guess.

I often use the standard reply because it gives a bigger window and I tend to be long-winded.

Yeah, don't tell me you hadn't noticed:o

I almost always start with the Quick Reply. Sometimes I switch to the other if I want to use formatting the QR doesn't have.

I tend to be one who doesn't push buttons to see what they are. I just found out today the "Go Advanced" button next to the "Post Quick Reply" button takes you to the same screen that you get when you click the standard,
"Post Reply" button. ;) :D   :foot:  :o

I can't ever recall using the "Quick Reply" button.

I would say I only use a "Post Reply" about 10% of the time.

The other 90% of the time I just use the quick reply. It's tons easier. Also, if I'm using a quick reply and I have typed stuff and decide I need more features, I just click "Go Advanced" and it keeps what I type and gives me the standard "Post Reply" page.

vBulletin is THE best forum software around.

Quick reply for me. Hit the go advanced if I can't remember the smiley code if I need one. Otherwise everything is available for quickreplies. :D

No slight on you, David, but I need an example. ;) The difference between Quick reply and Advanced is a single click.

The potential for thoughts taken out of context, without a smiley, is legendary. I like to have those tools available each time I post.

I go the extra mile, myself. :p

Coop, See I don't need the smileys to click on because I know the code to make them show up anyway.

Example
Code:
 = the surprised face
 = the thumbs up one
:foot: = the foot in mouth
:) = regular smiley
:D = big grin smiley

So I just type the corresponding code in rather than click on the smiley I want. :)

I'm with David on that point, I know the basic smiley code so for me it's easier to type and submit, than to post reply type and then hit submit.

Even when I quote a forum member
all I do is add = then the members forum name after and it shows up the same.

I'm such a slow typer that I need all the shortcuts I can find, I'm nearin' 50 and my wife-n-daughter convinced my to take a free on line typin' course, they say I'm never too old to learn.
