So I love my Cara Cara gen1 with FRN so much I sold my Endura. It opens smoother and is plenty sharp for and edc and at $20 it's a no brainer. So when I hear there was a G10 CC2 with full flat grind I was excited to order one. Price was @ $30 online.

So it arrives. I'm excited and hoping it to be everything the FRN CC1 is but with the G10 and FFG blade. Well.... after using it for a few days I'm not super happy with it. It is tight to open even after loosening the pivot and applying some lube. I've since opened her up to give a good cleaning and inspect everything. One thing is that the bronze washers are all bent up from where the pocket clip screws or screw holes have dented them. Not sure if this is causing the drag or not.. but will have to remove them and see if it smooths up at all. Also the locking bar had a high spot on it causing extra friction. I polished everything up pretty good but still not super smooth. I'll play with it some more tomorrow.

Now for the blade. The shape is nice and flat ground but I was expecting it to be thinner at the edge. It was also about as dull a knife as I've ever recieved fresh from the factory. My CC1 FRN came wicked sharp and is holding it's edge. I've put it on my sharp sticks but even after several tries I can't get it as sharp as the CC1. Not sure if it is the grind or bevel.. but no luck so far.

All in all... I'd prefer to have the G10 version of the CC1 to this one... unless I just got a late Friday afternoon blade.

Just my thoughts.. give one a try and let me know how yours is.

Mine came today. Typical Spyderco quality: tight lock-up, smooth opening, very sharp. The pocket clip is a welcome improvement over the 1st generation Cara Caras.
