Hi all,

this is a 16.75" forged 1075 blade with a 3/16's spine and a 9.5" wrapped handle over a walnut core. It's a bit of a fusion style, with a hapoon tipped blade and some Japan-esey furniture. It's a compact, solid, nimble sword, coming in at 2.25lbs . It's razor sharp and well balanced (about 4" in front of the guard), a good chopper. It was a lot of fun to make. Your comments are very welcome.

I like it....very interesting and nicely done.....a fine size, too. :)

You know, that would make one fine fighter at about a 10" blade, as well.

Like it a lot.

Hmm... so.. i love the blade, and i love the fittings, but something about the combination of shiny gold fittings with hammer forged flats doesn't quite do it for me. That blade is awesome though

There's no gold, only brass and copper, and both will age nicely unless you want to keep them polished.

I think that's the solution i'm looking for. Once it gets aged, it'll look perfect. The blade just has a rustic charm and i'd like the fitting more once they take on a similar patina

i think he was talking to me David :)

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch

Time will age both the brass and copper. There are also methods to age them. So, is "Bacon is a Vegetable" a Robert Heilein reference? I've read the books, but...

No lol that's my inner hog/busse lover showing through. Tanstaafl is from "the moon is a harsh mistress"
