Hey guys,

Sorry, newbie here. Anyone mind help explaining if it is possible to change the tang of a knife from half, to full tang, in other words, extending the metal itself? Like, must I use the same type of steel, what different types of joining metals other there?

I have no power tools with me, but wish to explore how to join metals.

You could weld a longer tang on.
These guys could give you better advice here.

Welding would be the way I would go. I wouldn't try to use any bonding agents such as super glue or epoxy.

You can weld dissimilar metals, but you have to take care. You can do it by arc, MIG or TIG welding. Brazing might work, but it won't be as strong. Do you have access to welding equipment and the experience to use it, or do you know someone that does?
