I received it in the mail Saturday morning. You can see a picture under the thread “first custom just arrived today”.
I slid it on my belt after opening it and it stayed there the whole weekend. I used it for a variety of tasks as I did my normal chores over the course of the weekend. Cutting rope and web strapping, opening bales and feedbags, trimming up some new pitch fork handles to fit and cutting up snacks throughout the day. The most aggressive thing done was to cut and old extension cord free of the ice it was encased in. While these are not extreme tests, they are everyday tasks that give and excellent indication of edge holding ability. A weekend of use will normally require a touch up on the fine diamond stone followed by the steel. This one required no touch up and was still shaving sharp. I was very impressed as I have not found a knife that would do that yet. I have knives in S30V, D2, 154CM and another in O-1. John has the heat treat mastered. The red micarta scales have darkened from use, which I like a lot.
I will post additional pics soon.

Thanks for posting this, I often wonder what uses my knives are put through. Those red handles should continue to darken, and "warm up" from oils in your hands. Please continue to post updates, and thanks for your compliment on my heat treat.

Thanks for posting Curth, glad you are getting the satisfaction of using a fine blade! I have to second the edge holding ability, I have a lot of knives - but none take the edge abuse the way John's knives do. I use mine cutting/trimming/shaping Kydex for hours every day, which is murder for most knives, JK knives just keep on sailing.

It's always good to hear that these blades are getting used. I use mine daily and wouldn't trade them for anything.
Keep the pics coming. We all love watching them change with age.
