And a little appreciation for one of the men that helped make it happen.

I really like the looks of that 0620CF, in particular. I just wish these knives didn't all have blades with such pronounced saber grinds.

Stu, many thanks for the videos. You always do a great job of capturing these events. On behalf of the forums, thank you.

Stu, in the ZT video at just past the 60 second mark, Charles describes the knife as being a steel frame lock and NOT titanium.
Blade HQ describes the knife handles as G10 and Titanium or carbon fiber and titanium.
Can you please confirm what the handle material actually is?

ZT's website lists it as "Frame lock, hardened steel lockbar inserts", which is exactly what it looks like. If the frame wasn't titanium, there would be no need for the lockbar insert shown in various pictures.

Thanks for the link. I see that KAI does have the handle listed as titanium which I thought was right, that is why I was confused when Stu and Charles said it was "just standard stainless".
Perhaps they were talking about the non locking side liner?

At any rate, now I won't have to cancel my pre order.

Apologies for the delay in your answer and thanks to tokerblue for the clarification.

The designs are awesome and I love that Emerson is working with KAI, I really think that's awesome. I do however wish there was at least one knife with a titanium liner lock (just because I love ti liner locks) and I wish there was a bit less 8cr13mov. Bargain prices are fantastic but I wish there was at least one or two mid range models with something like 154cm or S30V and was at around the $60-100 range. Either way I plan on owning at least most of these models.

- I don't think Emerson wanted something in direct competition with his knives. The Kershaw collaborations are lower quality materials and most likely in the $50 and under range. The ZT collaborations use higher quality materials and are in the $200+ range. His knives will most likely stay in between. Personally, I'm much happier with the steel lockbar insert. This way, the frame can still be titanium with the wear of a steel lockbar.

Yeah I'm sure you're right about not wanting them too similar to his own designs, I'm just sick of everything having a frame lock these days. At least the prices will be nice and low.

Any word on when the zt620 is coming out?
ZT no longer releases dates. As soon as you see them "in stock", that's the date you can trust. From some posts I've seen, could be this month...
