SHOT Show 2025 - New Buck Knives Videos

Thanks for the video link. March release for the 301/303's. I was hoping and anxious to see if there will be any Legacy knives in 2025. In 2024 the Legacy knives were in both the catalog and price list. The 2025 price list is now on the BCCI website. I went thru and there were no Legacy models in the price list. Perhaps there will be a separate Legacy catalog. Even Larry Oden has not given us a sneak peak this year.

I notice that he lists off the new Cocobolo 100 series knives as, 102, 105, 106...? (2:22) But I didn't see a hatchet on the table. Did he just mislabel one, or are they bringing back the 106?

So, ETA is: Imports & 100 series should be available now, March for the 300 series & early Summer for the Range.

It looks like I'll have to see if I can find a knife laying around here somewhere to carry while I'm waiting for the Range Elites to come out.:)

Wow that Range is quite a nice lineup!!! Love it. That's certainly in my future. Hopefully they make an orange one.

That ebony 301 is a no brainer. Sweet.

How do they call that "cocobolo"? Is it "cocobolo" colored or is it actually layered laminated cocobolo?

It's laminated birch dyed to resemble cocobolo. When Lee first picks it up, he calls it "cocobolo dymalux".

Dymalux (for those familiar) is laminated, stabilized birch which is dyed to mimic a particular wood. I don't know whether they do or not, but should always call them "cocobolo Dymalux", "cherry Dymalux", "walnut Dymalux", etc... If you're using Dymalux, own it! Be proud of it! Don't tuck your tail and whisper it like you're ashamed. It's a fantastic product that is likely more durable than nearly any other natural handle material.
If customers have to ask if it's solid or plywood, it's a bad look. Almost like you're hiding it.
Sorry for the rant... 😇

The Range Pro looks fine, still a little pricier than I would like but I say that about most things nowadays, but the elite...extra $100 for aluminum handles and magnacut is a little ouch. But with the BCCI/ Pro discount I'm sure the range series will be well recieved.

I'm really interested in the updates to the 300 series knives. They went back to the old blade configuration, swapping the spey and sheepsfoot. 👍

Thanks, that's what I thought. It's a little bit misleading. Their laminated stuff is fine but why try to spin it like cocobolo. Ah well. I guess from a marketing standpoint it sounds better than "brown laminate"

Thanks for posting, rival22!

It's official in this KC video via the Buck employee: the Range is the update to the Vantage, preserving much of the Vantage DNA.
That's going to be a tough sell. The only thing they have in common is they both have a blade, a handle, and vinyl washers. About the same volume of DNA that I share with Morgan Freeman.

But that's okay! I kinda dig the new knife.
