I noticed that also. He left out the 103 so I assume he stated 106 but meant 103.I notice that he lists off the new Cocobolo 100 series knives as, 102, 105, 106...? (2:22) But I didn't see a hatchet on the table. Did he just mislabel one, or are they bringing back the 106?
Thanks, that's what I thought. It's a little bit misleading. Their laminated stuff is fine but why try to spin it like cocobolo. Ah well. I guess from a marketing standpoint it sounds better than "brown laminate"It's laminated birch dyed to resemble cocobolo. When Lee first picks it up, he calls it "cocobolo dymalux".
Dymalux (for those familiar) is laminated, stabilized birch which is dyed to mimic a particular wood. I don't know whether they do or not, but should always call them "cocobolo Dymalux", "cherry Dymalux", "walnut Dymalux", etc... If you're using Dymalux, own it! Be proud of it! Don't tuck your tail and whisper it like you're ashamed. It's a fantastic product that is likely more durable than nearly any other natural handle material.
If customers have to ask if it's solid or plywood, it's a bad look. Almost like you're hiding it.
Sorry for the rant...![]()
Thanks for posting, rival22!Knifecenter's is out as well. Nothing against BHQ, but I like the Knifecenter videos of these better.
That's going to be a tough sell. The only thing they have in common is they both have a blade, a handle, and vinyl washers. About the same volume of DNA that I share with Morgan Freeman. Thanks for posting, rival22!
It's official in this KC video via the Buck employee: the Range is the update to the Vantage, preserving much of the Vantage DNA.
all of a sudden....Hes speaking what is that French? And another video from 2025 SHOT Show.
yep way better video. glad someone finally asked about the range blade sizes.Knifecenter's is out as well. Nothing against BHQ, but I like the Knifecenter videos of these better.
