SHOT Show and some very random thoughts....

SHOT this year was very strange for me and I could not figure out why......BK&T did very well from a biz standpoint.....YEAH, WAHOOOOO......But it struck me as I was perusing the list of booths I either usually see or wanted to see that I got to see almost nobody and nuthin........A quick drop by at ESSE in the morning and then to Ka-Bar .....A couple of runs past Hogue and that was about it......I traditionally buy a Chris Reeve something at SHOT and Blade and an Al Mar something as well.....I never got to Chris's place and only saw Gary at Al Mar for a brief mo during set-up.....I did see Chris at the Harris party.....He may not remember.(he he).....I got to see nothing new at my favorite spots......Never made it to Cammillus, never made it downstairs.......We were slammed constantly.....

This may sound like whinging (one of my favorite Britishisms) but it certainly is not.....This show marked a real milestone in my little BK&T baby's' life.....Becker Knife and Tool pubered this year.....Makes me proud, makes me happy and I wanted to share that with you all......BK&T's success is in no small amount due to the people who people this forum.....A more diverse bunch as I think I have ever observed who get along splendidly(most days) on the basis of a shared love (obsession) for the blade and a modicum of humor and a real sense of goodwill.......

I have a lot to give thanks for right now and this little neighborhood on the net is WAY up there......Tradewater, Moose, The Bisquit, Bladeite who is one of BK&T's oldest fans and still pretends to think I am OK......Clich, and MWTIC, Fal'er and Captain Airyca, Old Physics, Upnorth and to all the other regulars my most sincere thanks.....(Trade got to go first 'cause he IS the sickest guy in ANY room)......

Anyhow I hope to spend time at Blade with every one I did Not see at Shot

With Many Thanks.....

Nice post, glad business is doing well and thanks for putting out all the great products to you! Now where are the damn hats!! Lol

Glad to hear that your baby is keeping you busy. Thats always a good sign. Theres the rest of the year for play, but its awesome to hear the the BKT biz is taking off. Thank goodness because if i didnt have here to hang out, my wife would be so annoyed with my constant yammering. Congrats Ethan, good things on the horizon

We appreciate all of the hard work you do! It certainly benefits us!

Oh, and the sooner the fall gathering is planned for your neck of the woods the better, I was thinking about showin up!

Thank you sir!

Thank you sir! I sure an glad I stumbled in here about a year ago. This place has given me the gift of not buying crappy knives anymore and a new hobby. I appreciate everyone here who makes it a fun place to be and a fun place to be a part of.

I heard that SHOT was a crazy time for all that attended. Glad you're back and well.

Keep all those knives coming Ethan!

Shot is always hectic. I am glad you found the time to chew the fat with me and my buddy Henry. I had no idea who the man behind BK&T was until you commented about one of "your designs" at which point I read your badge that said Ethan Becker. It was nice meeting you, wish I had known more about you and your blades beforehand though. Glad to hear business is up, not so for many people in this economy and with any luck my buddy Henry and I will see you at the KaBar booth next year.

Blade should be a good time...

Spring gathering too soon to that and other events.

Fall gathering though. ah, the scorpions :>

Thank you for everything Ethan

Though I don't post here in the Becker forums too often, it is still my favorite place on BF to hang out. In all honesty, your knives rekindled my love of knives and the outdoors, and I cannot adequately say how much I appreciate it. I also appreciate your magical ability to make my money fall out of my wallet with your designs :p

I just thought I would share. Thank you again sir, you shall always have my business; I can't wait to watch BK&T grow and mature.

I'm very happy for your continued and increasing success with BK&T, Ethan! You deserve it. I think we would all agree on that one.

It's little things like this that show how much of a stand up guy you are Mr. Becker. We should be thanking you! :)

I would like to thank you for creating knives that are practical and functional at a price point that is reasonable. I wish you continued success in the future.

Thank you very much for your time in giving us knives that work very well at a very good price point.

I sure am glad I found this place a few months ago, I really have taken a liking in blades,
and I now know what to look for in a knife.

I am glad that BK&T is doing well, and I hope that you don't have to move to another company again
That sure would be tragic, but I don't think Ka-Bar is going anywhere anytime soon

Once again, thank you

Uncle E, we love you too. We'll love you more when we can buy those water bottles, patches, and hats. :D :p
BTW, it's Mega Bisquit now. The other day, I pubered too. Went from 2" to 7" in a day. Sort of like my real-life puberty.
