shot show

I think they'll probably reveal the new CRK karambit, the Izipho. Also there's the new AUS-8 and FRN-handled Sebenza, the Izibi.:D

I really think they will release a Small Umnumzaan at the SHOT Show this year. I also think they may offer embellishment options for both Umnumzaans as well.

Remember, in the Woods Monkey interview Chris Reeve himself said a Small Umnumzaan would be coming at some point--even before the availability of embellishment options for the (Large) Umnumzaan.

With the discontinuation of the One Piece Range, I think CRK now has the production capability to start offering the Small Umnumzaan.

I am hoping to see the Insingo at SHOT Show. That knife looks to be my ideal Sebenza but I want to see it in person before buying one. I also want to see about the possibility of a small Insingo; as I prefer the small Sebenza.

That would be my guess as well. Especially when so many have requested a small umnumzaan. And especially since they make a large and small sebenza and both have such a huge following, it would only make sense to offer a small umnumzaan at some point. With the One-Piece line coming to a sad end, they now will have the capacity for such an offering......I personally would like a CRK multi-tool of some kind one day. And with CRK genuis, I am sure it would be the best ever. I have heard people say it would be $300-$400, what are we paying a sebbie and umnumzaan now ???

If in 2008 CRK made approximately 1,200 Large and 1,000 Small Sebenzas and 450 Umnumzaans, they might expect to sell approximately 375 Small Umnumzaans per year--which is significantly more than the 250 Mnandis that were made in 2008.

I think the market is definitely there right now for a Small Umnumzaan, and the sales of the Umnumzaan line should only grow over time as people become more familiar with the design.

SHOT has now ended... any news? Or did I miss an earlier post other than the Nyala they mentioned earlier?

oh i wish they made a 3" umnumzaan. sounds like i am gonna have to wait. :(

I'm 95% sure it says somewhere on their website that they are currently re-designing it, or something like that.

You're right, I'd forgotten that page, but there are tons of posts here that say that various people at CRK have said that there's nothing in the works. Que sera, sera? ;)

Edit - I checked the Wayback Machine and that page has been that way since at least early 2004 (six years!) :D

Just got back from SHOT the other day.

The only new thing I saw at SHOT was the new small fixed blade Nyala. It is a wonderful small fixed blade that fits in the hand very well. Very handy size to it, sort of like a Shadow IV but smaller and with a better grip. It would make a great everyday fixed blade.

Asked about the Insingo and was informed it is an exclusive to KnifeArt, and hence they did not have one there. I forgot to ask about the possibility of a small one but assumed since it is an exclusive to KnifeArt, that decision would have more to do with KnifeArt and CRK.

Sorry but didn't see any small Umnumzaan or Umfaam.
