Shotgun Identification

Alright me and my dad can't figure out what shotgun he has and where it's from. Here is the description:

It is a double barreled 12 gauge shotgun. Double hammers with exposed pins. The guy at the gunshop said it was used for cowboy action shooting and the thing weighs about 15-20 lbs. I'm not sure what the technical term is but on one side there is a plate and the name "Liberty II" is engraved.

So does anyone know anything about this? When i did a search all i could find was that it is made in spain.
 
Import copy of antique "rabbit eared" shotgun. Should be safe to shoot if it has proof steel barrels. Not collectable or very valuable. I also be very surprised that it weighs that much; probably 8-10 lbs would be about right for a double.
 
A BAR weighs about 19 pounds. No way in heck does a shotgun does that.

KBI imported a variety of CAS-type shotguns, including the "Liberty II coach gun." I'd assume this is what it is.

It sounds like the one ABTOMAT-47 mentioned. Do you know any other information about it?

If it is a coach gun, the barrels should be 18' or just a hair over to keep it within legal lenght.

Can you post a pic or link to a pic?

There is/have been several manufactures of coach guns built in the 15 or 20 years.

Yes the barrel is just about 8 inches

I re-weighed it and checked the scale and and it is 8 lbs.

Right now i cant post a picture because the camera is on the fritz but there is nothing special about it. It is really a plain jane of a gun
 
Type --"Liberty II" shotgun-- (including quotes but not dashes) into Google. Look at the first three or four pages of hits.

A "jack booted thug" from the ATF will be knocking down your door soon. You might want to hide your shotgun.
 
Just so no ninjas come crashing through your windows, did you mean 18" barrels? I can't picture an 8" double, along with it being highly illegal.
