I have a Remington 870 that I put a GG&G rear sling mount on. It fits between the stock and the receiver. The problem is that there is now a gap between the stock and the trigger. Is there a fix for this or is this common with this type of mount?

Were you perhaps supposed to remove the stock bearing plate? (Just a first thought, you might not even have one if your stock is synthetic.)

There is no plate on polymer stocks.

Does it look like this?

Same but a longer loop on the left side.

That's a picture I grabbed online (870 + GG&G), but it doesn't look to be much of a gap between the trigger guard & sling mount.

While I have a 870, I only have GG&G parts for some black rifles, but by my experience and observation, they make very solid & well-designed equipment.

The stock you show is not the stock I have on my shotgun. I have the original synthetic stock on mine and there is a distinct gap between the two.

Try their receiver mounted loops instead.
