I think i might want to convex my first blade and the junglas is my only big blade. Two questions -

Will a convex preform better because i have been having tiny (almost invisible knicks)

Also is the easiest method the sand paper and mouse pad?

I convexed mine after I got it, did my KaBar Kukri also. Both cut like a banshee. My method involves leather (old belt) or rubber strip glued to a stick (about 1 1/2 inches wide quarter inch thick) with sand paper attached by a spring clip. Works almost like a strop with the leather or rubber flexing a little as the edge moves over it. Can shave hair from my arm with it on those thinner blades, and the edge holds up.

Did you notice any difference in the copping or slicing performance?

a convex edge is my favorite and i think they do cut better. i made a knife back in 08 that i have beat the crap out of and even sent it off on a private passaround. it is a chisel grind with a half convex edge. here is a link to the vid that unit made when he had the knife. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q_eMwRaHYg

i use a belt sander to convex the edge but i finish it off on my paper buffing wheel. you can also use the method that cop911 suggested.
