I have made a couple of fixed blade wharncliffes and sheepsfoots in the past. I tried to give them as straight of an edge as possible, carefully holding a ruler against the edge, then holding it up to the light.

Anyway, I wonder if there is any advantage of having the edge slightly "rockered." Cutting out paper profiles, it looks cool that way, but I don't know if it would serve any useful purpose.

On the other hand, I could see the usefulness in having the edge curve the opposite way, like a hawksbeak.

A modified wharncliff is a very useful blade shape IMO. Check out Gossman's UNK model. Lots of user feedback on how nice it is in his forum.
