What are the shoulder harness knives out there that are decent?

Also does anyone make custom should harness knife sheaths?

or you could buy some kydex and nylon webbing and hardware and make your own, custom fit how you like it, and come out significantly under what a lot of folk are charging. you can also pilfer parts and hardware from military surplus items as well.

i was actually just thinking about making one of these for myself, but i would make it in leather instead, since i do leatherwork as a hobby and have all of the tools and a lot of leather just laying around waiting to be made into something.

when you craft something yourself not only can you make it to your exact specifications, but it gives a sense of accomplishment and you will appreciate the final item a lot more as well.

..sorry was watching a movie.
there are many sources for kydex, the best prices i have personally seen are from Harva Plastics. amber harva has an ebay store, you can pick things up from there. it looks like her kydex auctions expired - just contact her directly. basically you get a much better deal that most places give you for a full sheet of kydex, and she can chop it up into more conveniently shippable pieces or you can just order partial sheets. a full sheet lasts a long time and makes a lot of sheaths.
if you search the knifemaking forums here you can find several threads dealing with how to create kydex sheaths. its not rocket science - the whole process is pretty simple, and if you mess up you can usually reheat the kydex and reform it. personally, i think a lot of the aftermarket kydex sheaths are vastly overpriced: you can get the kydex to form them for a couple of bucks, chicago screws are around 25 cents each, and you can pick up the small rubber grommets at any hardware store. when people are charging $40-50 for a primitive kydex sheath for a $40 knife, its kindof illogical. not to mention it can be a lot of fun and a creative outlet to make your own kydex sheaths - youll soon find yourself making sheaths for everything.

make sure you check out the threads in the knifemaking forum and see if making your own sheaths is for you first.
as for nylon webbing - you can pick up simple stuff at a hardware store, as well as most fittings. sporting goods/mountaineering/outdoors stores have different widths/thicknesses as well as colors, and more heavy duty and elaborate hardware/connectors. perhaps someone here can help you out with a direct US source, im in canada and get my stuff locally.

you can also modify army surplus gear or pilfer fittings and material from many surplus items, and you can usually pick them up dirt cheap. i just got 3 ammo pouches ill be using to make survival kits for $5 (for all 3). cant beat surplus prices :)
