Should I anneal this 1075 / 1080 ? -

I got a 5 foot bar of 1075 / 1080 today from Terry Summers. I just assume it is hot rolled. It Rockwells 27.5 HRc. Should I do an anneal on this before profiling and grinding or should I just leave well enough alone? I am used to grinding much less hard steel, say 12 to 15 HRc. I have not put it to the belt grinder yet but have cut a piece off with the bandsaw for a knife to make. It didn't cut too bad. Belts are just soooo expensive though.

Any advise based on experience is much welcome. Thanks.

1080 is usually spheroidize annealed because of the high carbon content.Hot rolled would give a 100% pearlitic structure which is difficult to machine. Give it a try first.
 
Thanks Mete; I think as I try to rough profile the blade on the bandsaw I may get a better feel of what to do.
