Should I be worried yet?

I sent in a Buck Vantage Pro to the warranty department. About 2 weeks later I sent out an email to them. They said that it was put into the system on 3/3/10, and they'll probably send it out to me withing 14 business days. So I guess that on 3/17/10 it was shipped, as you can see it's the 23rd when I post this.
They gave me the claim number too, and everything also.
Anyone know how buck sends out warranty replacement they said they did a one time courtesy replacement on it. Is it USPS?
 
I have received knives from them both ways, USPS and UPS. Usually UPS though. I wouldnt worry yet. So why was it a courtesy replacement? :D
 
Too early to worry. When I order from their website, they always come to me UPS. For all repair, warranty and sharpening/cleaning work they have come USPS. They always come with tracking or delivery confirmation.

It was a courtesy replacement for:
Broken Pocket clip screw (the head broke off, the body was still in the pocket clip.
Lots of vertical blade play.
Some side to side play
Extremely off center (hitting) that nothing would fix :(
Action was a bit too slow.
 
One thing for sure, Buck always goes the extra mile to make their customers happy! I have sent several Bucks back over the years and have always had excellent customer service from them! I wouldn't worry to much. Everything will be OK!
 
When I've ordered from Buck and didn't buy enough to get free shipping, there's an option to have the order shipped PSPS Priority. When getting the free shipping, (I assume you will), they have always shipped UPS.

A few times, I wasn't given the tracking number until the shipment was almost at my door.

It may only be delivery confirmation in which there would be no online info until it is delivered. But if it never shows up USPS can trace.

It's too early to worry.

Just because it was put into Buck's system on a certain day doesn't mean they got to work on it immediately. The 14 days was an estimate.
 
Over the years I have sent 3 knives in for warranty work and they shipped them first class mail. I didn't receive any notification that they were shipped but I didn't ask for any either. I received all of them within 3 weeks after I sent them in. I wonder what a one time courtesy replacement means if the knife has a lifetime warranty. Did they replace a knife that you damaged?
 
I didnt pay for shipping on my 532 around Christmas and they sent it ups ground and stated expect 10 days ship time, I didnt think anything would take 10 days even if shipped by pack mule but it came on the exact day they predicted 10 days after shipping notification. Could be how they shipped yours

Was this a warranty return or did you buy something?
What i heard is they do WARRANTY Replacements with USPS, but do FREE SHIPPING via UPS.
 
You could always call them on Monday. I've called a couple times and they were always helpful
 
They don't count Sat or Sun as business days so 14 business days would make it 3/23/10. You could probably add a couple days to that before it gets shipped.

Wow totally forgot about weekends. That's extremely reassuring.

It's "my" only real carry knife other then a ka-bar than a forum goer gave me
That's one handed, and that I'd want to carry.

I think I waited more patiently for my daughter to be born than for the inverted 2 liner I won the other day-no shipping info has been emailed to me. I cant do a usps search:eek: Just a knife:confused::p
