Should I buy a Tenacious?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a 'cheaper' EDC knife for my collection.
The Tenacious costs 42.90 Euro's here in The Netherlands, which is 55 Dollars...
I know it's pretty expensive, but if I ship it from the US it would be more expensive.
I love the black on black look.
Any users?
So let me know what you think about the budget Spydie!
Pic's are always great:)

I have a pretty decent collection of $100-300 knives, so you won't see me on here raving about too many $40 knives, but I have to say the Spyderco Tenacious is truly impressive for the money. Fit and finish are as good or better than anything else I've seen in that price range. They flip open easily, action is smooth, lockup is tight. Even the pocket clip is extremely nice. All screws appear to be torx, so you should be able to take it apart to clean it without issue. If not for the blade steel and "China" marking, I'd have guessed it was a $75-100 knife.

I have two of them. One is fully serrated and stays in my hunting pack, the other is the all black plain edge, which I keep in my car.

Personally, I think the stainless liners look EXTREMELY nice, so I prefer that over the all black one, but both open smoothly and function the same.

I have a resilience which is a longer version of the tenacious. And damn the knife is amazing. Very smooth action, but doesn't come loose when closed, the jimping is fantastic, aggressive but not irritating. The blade is very sharp and I love the flat grind. The spidey holes are phenomenal, the handle is g10 with a very nice texture, great grip even when wet. I use my resilience for food prep. And I use an ontario rat 1 for edc bc of knife laws in my area. And it feels great in hand. Well worth the money. And I'm actually a fan of the blade shape. I highly recommend it. And if you want better reviews, look on YouTube! Just type in "Spyderco Tenacious review" and the first few are by very reputable channels.

Great knife, good size, fits the hand well, ease to sharpen steel, g10 is decently grippy and it hasnt screwed up my pants. You can mod it if you like to tinker around, the thumb hole is plenty of big to accomedate hands using gloves. Jimping on the thumb ramp is very effective. It is pretty wide when closed though, with that in mind i wouldnt recommend it being carried in your back pocket next to your wallet because it is a PITA to put it back. Overall i like it. What edge choice are you getting?

Personally, I'd spend the extra $15 or so to get a Delica or Endura. I'm not sure what the price difference is in the Netherlands though. Otherwise, I'd also suggest checking out the CQC-6K or RAT-1. Both are typically around $30-35 (again, not sure about in the Netherlands).

" It is pretty wide when closed though ...."

This is the main reason that I gave mine away. It just took up to much space in my pocket.

The knife is to my understanding, the best seller in Spyderco's line up and you can see why. The grip, well, let me put it this way, it fits my hand so well thatI use this knife that to rate every other Spyderco when considering knife ergonomics. Blade size and shape are spot on. I wish they used a better steel though. I would buy another if they came out with a LE and used Sandvik steel or above.

Overall, it is a great knife for the money.

I have a few Tenacious's including the black on black. I agree with basically everything said in this thread. For the price it is a excellent knife. Like others have said it is a bit "wide" in the pocket, but that is the only downside to it.

I have one, with stainless liners, which look great, and it is a terrific knife for the money. Nice, solid and grippy handle, the serrations cut beautifully, although I would like to try it in plain edge as well. I doubt very much that you will regret pulling the trigger on this one.

I good friend of mine also got the Tenacious. And I really think it's worth the price. I'm sure: You won't regret buying it!

I usually use knives that are valued at $100 and up. That said, the Tenacious is a truly outstanding value knife at its price point. Mine has a smooth opening and the lockup is tight. Great pocket clip and easy to clean. Excellent fit & finish. The blade steel may not hold an edge for as long as other higher-end steels, but it is very easy to sharpen and takes a wicked edge. I would definitely recommend that you acquire a Tenacious.

I have a Tenacious (plain edge) and am very pleased with it.
As a matter of fact, it is my EDC.
