Should I buy the ESEE?

Now, I'd make this in the ESEE sub-forum, but I'd like to get some more opinions than just purely ESEE owners.

As you probably know (if you don't, you're living in a cave - can I come join you?) Christmas is coming up, and I've got no idea what to desire for a gift. Yes, I'm still at that age where I get presents from my parents. Don't make fun of me. Haha. Anyway, I was looking at getting the ESEE Junglas, because of its awesome warranty, incredible bomb-proof-y-ness, and it's an overall great knife. I make my own kydex sheaths, but it's a hassle, so I also like the fact that it comes with its own sheath.

I do already have the Ka-Bar HB, and the Ontario SP10 (I'm not saying these are nearly as good as the ESEE, so don't get mad) and my friend pointed out that it may not be worth the money to spend $140 on the ESEE when I already have two pretty decent knives that would accomplish nearly the same thing. So I've come before you, humble and contrite, to ask, is the ESEE honestly worth all the money when I have two pretty good knives already?

what do you usually like to do with your knives? i'm a huge junglas fan but i'd say go get something else that's not a chopper...maybe something in the 4" range to complement your choppers?

when i go hiking my go-to setup is a junglas and pair it up with either an esee-4, becker bk-2, and more recently a mora & a blind horse knives bushcrafter...i like variety.

I don't think you'd be disappointed with an esee but in this case with those models I don't know if it would really do all that much for you. Now an izula...Everyone needs an Izula. :-)

I agree. Maybe an RC3 or an IZULA?

ESEE Junglas is a heck of a great knife. My son has one and loves it. The knife itself is cool and fun to use (judging by him anyway - heh) and it comes with a really nice sheath.

Assuming you want a big chopper that should last longer than you will, I can't see how you'd be disappointed with the Junglas.

Figure out what you want in a knife and then see if an ESEE Knife fits what your looking for and if you dont like it, it is easy enough to move along if unwanted .
whether you post in the ESEE forum or WSS or General section . I'm not going to tell you that ESEE is the be all end all b/c it is not. the best knife you can own is the one you have on you at the time of need.

Or......You could get a HEST to compliment your big knives. For it's size,it's pretty much bombproof, and a cool blade to boot!
