Should I buy the Manix or save for a large Sebenza?

SAVE! Get a large Classic with some type of wood inlay and you'll never look back. :D :D :D

guys, I only read about it and seen it in pictures, its not the biggest company in the world to have media power, but I am a sebenza man.

The thing with me about Sal breaking a Sebenza (or any knife) is that if you need that much lock power, you need a FIXED blade!! That said I'm impressed at the attention the manix has drawn. It looks like a good knife at a good price.
However, you are not getting the precision of a Sebby or the titanium handles and bushing pivot, etc. I think it is like compring apples to oranges.
If you were to compare it to a Buck Strider,i'd say Manix hands down! But on the choice you gave, I'm Sebenza all the way. Take care, guy
Edit, add: Buy Both!

I got a used Manix for $80 and am happy as a clam.

If you can get a similar deal (or anything under $100) I'd say go for it.
Definately the Manix if you intend on using it since you wont feel as bad.
The Sebenza is harder to use hard and not worry that you'll scratch, mar etc an expensive knife.

I know I'm late on this thread, but if you are even thinking of buying a Seb, you'll never be really happy till you get one. Then, you'll be as pleased as you can possibly be that you have one! Never had a Manix, but you'll love the Seb.

Nah Sebenzas aren't that great anyway.

I buy all my blades from the local hardware store for like a buck a piece.

Hi Sharpmaker, it is a fair question with no easy answer because the knives are so different. Check out the Manix threads in the Spydie forum, they are pretty informative.

I'd suggest buying both and selling the one you don't want. You might always wonder if you don't get both.

Most of why I buy and sell is just to see different knives. I can say that my CRK is the only collection that continues to grow.

Like everyone says, buy both. If you're prepared to shell out for a $300 - $400 knife, what's $80 extra for another one.

Decide what you like best then sell the other. There is no point in trying to compare them, which works best for you, that's what really matters, they are both top quality knives.
