I have a chance of a lifetime chance here, got a secret connection that will enable me to get any Randall within reason in a 3 month period with a 20% increase on the basic price.

Shall I? I only have pretty much this week to decide. This will be my second fixed blade if I do buy it, and it will be a hard user. The Busse Hell Razor being my first purchase.

I just quit my job too......

Personally, I would get a second Hell Razor, but that's what I do. :D
(you could probably get 2 more hell razor for the price of the Randall, and they will be worth more quicker too!)

Well I already have the Busse on order...I was also thinking of a Model 14 instead.

So far 2 nays!

You need to ask yourself what it is that you want to dowith the knife. Do you want it as a collector's item? If so, it will undoubtedly be worth it as it will accrue value if you care for it. Do you want it to play with, to admire, and to have as a part of the history of fighting knives? If so, it will still work, as it is a classic fighting/military knife with four or more wars behind it. If you want it as a modern camp knife, there are better choices. The double gurad, while useful in a combat knife, is not so useful in a hunting knife or for other chores. It interferes with using your thumb or finger alnong the spine of the knife for extra control and/or strength. The leather hilt, while the classic format, is not as good as a micarta hilt is wet, tropic environments. So, if you want a combat knife for real use, you might consider a Model 1-7 with a micarta hilt. If you want a camp knife or a hunting knife, Randall does offer better choices. I have a Model i-7 that I keep for historical reasons and I have a 6" Hunters Bowie that I have had for 45 years and have used for any and every possible chore. It has done all of them without complaint.

Get another Job first.

Well, you could get it and if you dislike it, sell it for equal to or more than you paid for it.

If you don't get it, and you've wanted one for quite some time, will you regret it?

Personally, I think they are over-priced. But that is just me.

I am a fan of practically ALL knives. I love Busse knives, Got lots of different models. I have yet to own a Randall and it is starting to bother me:grumpy: I see Randalls in the collection soon! I don't believe in wating years for a knife(Just my opinion). I would find a mint Randall on the secondary market. Therefore: Given an oportunity like yours, I would leap at it!!
