Should I buy this axe?

Came across a Walters black diamond axe. Handle is 28", head 8.5" bit to bit. Eye is about 2 1/4". Not sure weight but assuming 2.5lb.

But is the bit too far gone to be worth restoring? Certainly I wouldn't pay what he's asking for it of course, lol.

Are those weld lines on it.
Pictures a little unclear as to real condition but a good soak in a rust remover would tell you if it’s really worth bringing back to life.
If it’s cheap enough or you are into it and have the spare cash around I’d say go for it.

Not weld lines, just where the owner scrubbed some rust to see the manufacturer. It's definitely not a show piece. I'll buy it and post some pics of cleaning it up.

Think you should buy it and then sell it to me.Black diamonds aren’t that common don’t jack it up getting in a hurry,wire wheel on an angle grinder is better than soaking it and a file or something slow is way better than grinding on the edge .
