I am looking for a good knife that has a razor edge and will hold it for a long time. I bought the MOD 875 it was too big to carry in my pocket. It was also not sharp when it came so i guess i have to get it sharpened.

I was looking at the
Benchmade 910 Stryker, M2 ats-34 Steel, Black Blade, ComboEdge $150
and
Benchmade 910 154 cm Stryker, Black Blade, ComboEdge $140

are they razor sharp and will they hold their edge? will this knife be too big (like the mod 875) in my pocket? which model should i get, m2 or 154cm?

also where is the best place to buy it? the lowest i found was blackwatercutlery.com they were $93 and $86

thanks for your input

Regarding where to get the best price on a particular knife, I always do a Froogle search to find out. There is a lot of variation from dealer to dealer, and some have low prices on some knives but higher prices on others. A Froogle search is the best way to find the lowest price at any given time.

Also, if the dealer is not familiar to you, it would be wise to search the Good, Bad, and Ugly Forum to make sure the dealer has not acquired a bad reputation, before placing your order.

I've read good reports on the Benchmade 910, although I don't own one myself and don't know how the size compares to the Mod you have.

M2 is an excellent carbon steel, which means it has great edge-holding but will rust if not cared for. CM 154 is a stainless steel that until recent years was the best available. However, it has now been surpassed by BG42, VG-10, and S30V.

If I were buying the 910 I would go for the M2 model. The reason is that all stainless steels are a compromise to get stain resistance. The best stainless steels are not as good in most respects as the better carbon steels. Nowadays I am not interested in a stainless knife unless the blade is VG-10 or S30V. I would rather have a knife with a blade of O1, A2, D2, M2, or S3V, unless rust resistance is a vital concern.

I only own 3 Benchmades, but ever one of them has been dang near perfect out of the box.
