There is one up for sale at a local surplus store.

The asking price is $135.

Should i or shouldnt i. I hav ebeen considering getting a strider ED. whatever knife i get will most likely be the last one until i get back from iraq.

So what do you rats think of the rat trap.

Thanks in advance for the info.

I like mine, have had it a couple of years, easy to resharpen and keep a good edge on, carries very thin, but fills the hand when open.

I recommend it.

Best regards - THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!

For city carry – definitely yes, but in the field…
I've heard Rat Trap referred to as a "big gents folder" or even "folding chef's knife" ))
Mine performs well for any cutting task - for digging/prying I'd choose smth different.

I totally agree. If you're looking for a thin, lightweight slicer then the RT is for you. Huuge blade, super light and so thin it disappears in the pocket. My choice for digging/prying would be a fixed blade, ie Howling Rat.

FWIW, the price is right and there are very few people that can buy a Rat Trap and get it instantly..

Good luck with your choice, Razor!

Yes. I would but my wife bought me a folder and now I'm not allowed to replace it. :grumpy:

In return you could go buy her a pair of shoes. ;)

:D

I would if you like a good size folder that is easy to carry. The price is right too. THANK YOU! Kevin

Yes thats about what i was thinking. Ive found once i started edcing a fixed blade that i stoped liking to carry folders near as much.

I mourn the lack of swamprats up on the srkw site. If they had those new models up i would have bought one already. The rat trap is tempting espeacially without the wait.

Meanwhile the strider ED is a handy little knife. Just not that sheeple freindly. I do realize though that if i get it and like it i could have it mailed to me while im in the sandbox, which is a very apealing idea.

I'll ponder this further but right now im thinking the strider ED. Although the RT is quite appealing, and im sure that ill end up with one at some point.

You may want to check the Swamp Rat Company Store. They have the first Swamp Rat release in stock for immediate shipment.
