looking for something to EDC .

i like the long side Belt Loop .

love the steel .

need a fixed blade .

will use for everything my PM2 should not be used for .

Looks very nice; the thing that would deter me is that the handle looks a little short. I'm sure it's plenty functional, but I like a little more real estate--especially if it's meant for hard use. An alternative that is comparable and a seriously good blade is the Swamp Rat Rodent Solution. I'd recommend the Busse Mean Street, but that would change the price range and I'm not sure if that is what you were looking for... all that said, your pick looks pretty darn good.

i do like the price of the Guardian3 under $200 is where i would like to keep it .

fair enough--the Rodent Solution is well below that, even with a kydex sheath that you'll have to purchase separately.

If I was going to use a knife for something that I was afraid to use a PM2 for, I would pick a steel like A2 or 3V. But I do like the look of that knife.

Bark River has a range of blades in similar sizes, most available in a steel like A2 or 3V.

No. IMO they are like Grayman knives---if you like the look of it just buy it. There really are no further questions.
