Should I post a trade?

OK so here is my question. I just got a new small Stars and Stripes and love it. I have been looking at the different graphic Sebbies out there and I find myself really wanting some of them. So should I trade my Ebony and Gold for a graphic? I am under the impression that the Ebony and gold is now a bit rare, so I don't know that a trade would be a good idea, but I am really looking for a few different graphics out there. What should I do. I won't post the trade in the exchange till I get some voices of reason here.

OK I don't think that the classic inlay with gold are rare because I believe that you can still call CRK and order one. The bottom line is that you have to go with what you like and how you plan to use it. For daily use stay with the ebony. For safe queens get the unique designs. That shiny titanium will show light scratch marks. If the dings and marks are OK then go for it or if you find you have to have a particular knife then go for it. I think the inlays age more gracefully that the plain or unique versions. Bottom line is it's your choice, after all you're footing the bill. ;)

Wait, so let me try to understand. I have 2 Sebenzas right now. The Stars and Stripes and the Ebony and Gold. Between the 2 which one should be the user? I am not into the plain ones, so that is out of the question right now. I don't want more than one user, so one has to be the user and the other will get the safe treatment. As will all other that will follow. I just need to establish which one will be the user/beater now.

I don't own a sebenza (yet!) but I think I know the answer.

Its really very simple. You have two safe queens and need a third for a user!

Stars and Stripes as the user.

Wood and gold inlay. . . . .behind glass or in a safe.

No respectable Sebenzaholic would be without a Mayonized Sebbie or Gold coin Sebbie ! :p :D

I don't think the heat of the desert would be good on the wood either. It may shrink or expand in the ever changing conditions. Also the sand would be bad on the gold. The CGG Stars and Stripes is much easier to have re-finished when I get home.

Well in my not so humble opinion, I would think that the Micarta Inlay would the only appropriate option given the conditions you describe. I'm not sure if you can count on getting the CCG refinished. The sand would also be hard on the anodizing. ;)

According to CRK's website, they can refinish the graphic Sebbies. The micarta one would be a great choice, but I don't think I will find anyone who will trade one for the wood one I have.

I have a CGG Moon Song from a number of years ago. I've taked it to the CRK booth at shows and called them about re doing it and adding blue as some of the anodizing had faded. I've always been told it wasn't a good idea to mess around with them much because the results weren't consistant. I'm not trying to preach to you, do what you want but you may want to call CRK to discuss this. Fingerprints and light dirt will effect the graphic, I suppose that sand will really do a number on it. You seem to have your mind made up so I guess you'll probably have to learn the hard way like I did. Good luck and stay safe. ;)

The wood one being the Ebony & Gold? I find it hard to beleive no one would trade a Micarta for it.
