I have limited funds right now, especially after purchasing a NMFBM (which I love by the way...thanks norcal) and I am looking for a smallish fixed blade. For those of you who have one, or decided you didn't need one, or maybe you want one, what are thoughts on the BAD. I am only interested in users right now and was wondering if this knife is worth my while. I am also interested in a rat-3. Thoughts? Thanks!

the bad and rat have different blade shapes, so imo are very different knives other than their size.

i have med hands and find the rat 3 handle to be just a tad small, though it is fairly comfortable.

of the two, i prefer the bad. better ergos, better steel, and i prefer the blade shape (less belly). im also not crazy about the kydex sheath it comes with. supposed to be modular and versatile, but i just like leather better. i have always found kydex to be uncomfortable and noisy.

i picked up my rat (ontario version) for about 100.00 iirc, if price is a major concern.

if you like the belly on the rat, you might consider a game warden.

The BAD or AD are fantasic knives I love them and use them and just bought another one.............. the addiction goes on!:D

I don't know man..."Busse" and "limited funds" probably don't go in the same sentence.

Better to wait a little longer and drink Folgers instead of Starbucks so there will be "No Regrets!"

Does this help? :D

I really wish I had got a BAD in black or green(?) micarta when they were at the store. I think it could be the ultimate small knife - my AD is certainly very close to that.

Why not? The mortgage company will understand.

At least, I hope they will. . .
"Umm, sir, you''re saying you need a forbearance because you bought a knife?"
"Yes."
"Well, how much is left that you can send?"
"What do you mean, 'left'?, there's nothing left."
"You bought a Busse didn't you?"
:D

I like my BAD, the thinner blade makes for easy cutting/slicing, but mine rides the bench most of the time. I find the Skelly Warden at .190" to be a good balance between toughness and cutting/slicing prowess. You will be pleased with a Warden or a BAD, I favor Wardens.

Damn, I should have known better :grumpy: Y'all and the boss hog are goin' to take me for every last penny:p Oh well...I let you know how I like it...think I'll go for the orange 'n' black handle. There's still time to talk me down though...PLEASE! ;)

Steely - yer like them lab rats that have electrodes attached to the sec'shul pleasure area of the brain who keep hitting the button over and over to get their jollies off. LOL

Another

And another

And another

And another.

Do you own one of ANYTHING? ROTFL!

Well...so far I've got a NMFBM an FFBM 2 skinny ashes and a sarsquatch. Unfortunately the FFBM and Squatch may have to go to make room for the 2 SFNO's I got coming  The ashes and the NMFBM I will never part with :D I have a feeling that a BAD will go into the take it with me to the grave category as well. Looks like I'm somehow in for a BAD (or two) as well  :D
