should I re-profile?

I've got a surefire Echo that has a chisel grind. I used my friends Worksharp belt sharpener to put a razor sharp convex edge on it's chisel grind. My free hand sharpening is no bueno. I use a KME sharpening system for my other blades and it works great but since it uses a "fixed" angle it doesn't work on a convex edge (or I'm too ignorant to figure out how to do it". I've considered re-profiling the blade to a fixed angle on the KME. Since the blade is chisel ground, how should I approach this? I'm just afraid I'l never get the edge right if I'm free handing the current convex grind.

Try stropping it first. On most occasions an edge can be brought back with some simple stropping.

If it really needs to be sharpened then yes, I'd probably just reprofile it. No sense in investing in and learning how to convex if you already own a KME. Unless you'd like to learn the skill of course, which really isn't all that hard.
