Should I send my Meerkat to W&R?

Just wondering for people who have more experience with me on discontinued models ... should I send my Meerkat into W&R? Will they be able to fix it even though it's discontinued? It's developed quite a bit of horizontal bladeplay to the point where the blade is rubbing the handle upon opening, and I would like to give it a sharpening touch-up as well without using my crappy sharpening skills.

Go ahead and send it in to see what they can do with it. If they can't fix it, they will let you know. They will offer to send it back to you with the recommendation that it be retired from service if they can't fix it. Also, they might offer to replace it with something of similar MSRP. Which is how I ended up with my Meerkat....my beloved mini-Dyad went belly up :(

Hmmm ... I don't remember, what is/was the Meerkat's MSRP?
MSRP was 54,95 USD :)

I've seen some Meerkats in the last time and I own two ot them too - all of them have some horizontal blade play, but as your wrote - quite a bit is another story. Anyway, resharpening shouldn't be a problem for Spyderco W&R.
