Should I send my ZT 0801blk in for warranty?

I recently purchased this ZT 0808BLK, and I noticed it had a piece missing from where the lock hits the blade. Do you think I should send it in? The knife still locks up, but the fact that there is a chip kind of bothers me.

Not really seeing a chip, that could of course just be me. If it doesn't affect lock up, I probably wouldn't send it in. If it bothers you of course send it in.

I just looked at mine, it looks exactly the same....either mine is chipped as well or it's part of the design...I am guessing part of the design

that is where the detent hits the tang...the small ramp helps ensure smooth transition on and off the tang/lock surface when the lock is engaged and disengaged. Not a flaw....many blades have similar markings...perfectly fine.

This is not what I would consider a warranty worthy issue. I read your post and I still don't understand what i am supposed to be seeing. I don't see any chip. I would advise you use the knife instead of worrying about stuff so small that people cannot even see it or that you might not understand the intended purpose. Looks like a tang ramp on the locking interface area. Keep in mind, this is a production knife, not a one of a kind handmade custom piece. There is always going to be some variations in manufacturing due to machining and handling during assembly.

My 0801CF looks the same. As others have said, its there for a purpose, not a "chip".

Rival has good advice you should consider following it.
