I recently hung this little ball peen and realized the face is pretty crooked. It appears to me like it is just a cheap hammer and was ground at an angle from the factory. Would it be a good idea to carefully grind it true or would I be sacrificing to much material?

Since I have been drinking I will just tell you the truth. Carefully pull that haft so that you can reuse it and toss that head in the recycle bin. For a couple of dollars and just a little looking around at second hand stores, hock shops, flea markets or yard sales you can get a real nice one with a American makers stamp on it. The difference in quality will be vary apparent.
