I am new to Becker knives, but not new to hearing about them! I have always wanted to get one, and I don't exactly have the funds right now, But I wanna start with the BK11. It looks like an amazing tool, and a great way to start my addiction!:P And if I do, how do I become a member?

Yep you can't go wrong with an 11 or 14. Just depends on whether you want more handle length or a bottle opener :D I started with the 14 myself, and carry it daily.

I am having trouble deciding...Haha. But the 11 seems to fit me more if that makes any sense.

I had the same issue, not being able to decide. So, I finally came to the decision on Friday and purchased the BK11 on Amazon for $32. Now I'm looking for a set of scales and while sifting through the eBay stumbled upon the BK15 and had to have it. So of course I hit that buy it now button and only have $20 left in the knife fund. Gonna have to wait on those scales for now.

Can't go wrong with either necker (11 or 14), they're really versatile so you can use them for just about everything.

The 11 was my first then I somehow ended up with a 2 and a 15 etc. The 11 is a great knife and you wont regret it.

Start with the smallest & work your way up. That way you will keep getting more impressed each time you get a new one !!! LOL :D

Just kidding. Get what you want & enjoy. Really, there is not a bad one in the bunch. Seriously. :D

I too bought the 11 first and then also got the bk16, 17 and 14, initially I liked the design and look which is why I bought it, but thought the ergonomics were so so with paracord wrap, got the bk14 and zytel, was still slightly underwhelmed,

But just today I finally received some wood scales made by one of the members of the forum, and I am blown away! the feel is awesome, so much so that I am considering selling the bk14 now as I may never pick it up first again. In the end it depends on your budget, as well as whether you want to buy handles for the knife or use it bare or with wrap.

I think the bk11 is a good knife, ergonomics did not work for me too well with paracord, was perfect for utility use, but any harder use would make me reach for the bk14 with paracord. in terms of comfort this is how I would rate my experience,

Bk11 with custom wood scales >bk14 with zytel >bk14 with paracord > bk11 with paracord, depends on whether you want it as a neck knife or as a harder user

The Bk-11 is as good as a small knife can be! For the price, you really can't ask for more. Add some micarta scales and you have the perfect fixed-blade EDC. Plus, Ethan Becker is a good guy and stands by his products.

Heres a thought OP, get em both, and whichever you don't want, I promise to buy it off you. I'm wanting either, to give to my 6 yr old as his first Becker.
