Should I stuck with Bantam?

Yep, that is my only SAK, and I have it for about two months. Got the knife by passing by a store where they had many SAK, and picked one because it is inexpensive, and "everyone should have a SAK". Got a Bantam in Celidor. Surprisingly for me, this cheap looking and cheap feeling fella has found its way to my pocket, which means kicking out a Case or Buck. I really do not want to accumulate knives just to look at them, neither to have so many for rotation. So, I am curious is there a somebody who experienced a replacement of their Bantam with another 84mm SAK, and if so -why?

I've never had a bantam but usually carry my Sak in a belt pouch and my folder clipped in my pocket

For Saks I used to carry a tinker deluxe but switched to the smaller evolution 14 or evogrip 18

I carry a executive, picked up used,it never leaves my lfp,a true edc.Very useful in my retired day to day activities. But it's a lightweight addition to my regular carry knives, never to kick others out.

I carry a 85 mm small tinker LFP and another knife RFP, but I would have no problem at all only carrying a Bantam.

I don’t own one (yet) but it’s tools are some of the most useful.

I have several models, the Bantam, Tinker, Camper, Farmer, Classic. They classic is always on my keys. Depending on my day, I pick the other. But the Bantam is enough for most things except for crafts where you need a saw and awl.

I feel like the combo tool isn’t as useful as the can opener/ bottle opener layer. Also I don’t mind pocket carrying a two layer 84mm.
So my edc sak is a Tinker small. Before that I carried a Recruit which I liked just as well. I rarely ever need an awl and the can opener works pretty good on Phillips screws.

the best SAK's are alox... try one of those

celidor is plastic, and honestly, if i ran the company they would be discontinued ; )
don't know what the world 'needs' now... but i know for certain less plastic is a good start

The bantam is a great SAK!

I could go most of my day with a classic on my keyring in its leather pouch. But...that itty bitty blade while okay for opening packages, opening mail, cutting a piece of twine, is just too small for any food/snack duty. This is why I so often have a 84mm SAK on hand. The bantam, mine is alox, gives me a blade that can handle snack food or slice bread and cheese, and the combo tool gives me flat and Phillips screw driving capacity, very light prying for things my thumb nail is not quite up to, pops open a cold one at the end of the day, or can open a can of chill for a campfire dinner.

For modern life, a team of classic and bantam is a great combo. Carry your bantam and use it well.

Oh, I have always at least two knives in my pocket, no clips, but I do not wear denim jeans, so the pockets are deep and not tight. Always carry a Peanut, and lately together an Opinel #4 (I do not even count it to consider myself sane for not having four knives in my pocket. I love this recently purchased knife, even know while I am typing this I hold it with my thumb against my palm). These small folders are not affected, but the Bantam started replacing one of the two mid-size/not so big slipjoint folders that are in my pocket. And these can be beauties such as Case Swayback, Case Seahhorse, Case Teardrop Jack, Buck 319, the small Douk Douk, and few others. Before I had two of these in in the bottom of my pocket , now most days its the Bantam plus one of the above mentioned (and the Peanut).

I find scissors a must for me in a SAK but if the Bantam works for you, it works.

If you got a SAK with more tools, you might find they complement a pocket knife too. Just a thought .... :p

I grew up in Bulgaria, at this time a communist country with no reason for advertisement since all companies were government owned. Even in big grocery stores there was not a single product in plastic that i can remember. Loafs of bread were bare and not sliced of course (and it was considered really rude to be touched with the finger to check how old they are),in the butcher and diary sections the meat or cheese were cut to the asked weight and wrapped in special laminated paper, and no plastic bottles. Nowadays I am really confused with the initiatives in some locales of no plastic bags at the check out, but in the same store most of the things are wrapped in plastic.

this cheap looking and cheap feeling fella

Are we talking about a genuine Victorinox here? Because if we are, that doesn't make much sense to me. OK, all SAKs I've owned over the past decades were standard red plastic. To me, at least, they never looked or felt cheap. Now, I'm in no way a Vic specialist or collector, but I've never considered the "upgrade" Alox models. What's the point? It's a Vic SAK and the mechanics will be exactly the same.

The red plastic handles are truly iconic.
